ABRSM is proud to be the world's leading provider of music learning and assessment services. Every year, over 600,000 musicians take our exams, in over 90 countries. We support the teaching and learning of music in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music. Our mission is to inspire achievement in music.

ABRSM is committed to extending its leadership in music education. To help fulfil this aim, we are recruiting for the new post of Policy and Research Manager, who will:

  • Develop policy initiatives
  • Build our awareness of the policy and cultural context of music learning nationally and internationally
  • Work with third party organisations to build knowledge, understanding and develop an action plan to support progression
  • Provide support for the joint advocacy programmes of ABRSM and its RSM partners

The successful candidate will have experience of policy development or research in government, education, commerce or not for profit organisations and will be strategic-thinking, innovative and action-orientated with great relationship building and influencing skills. We are ideally looking for someone who also has a qualification in policy or economics, a background in applied social or economic research and experience of managing research and policy budgets, programmes and partnerships and of policy/advocacy campaign management.

This an exciting opportunity to work with a team of highly committed professionals to further ABRSM’s aim to become a stronger voice in developing policy to drive music education.
