Regional Development Executive, South-West England

Commercial Department

Salary: c. £36,000 per annum

ABRSM is proud to be the world's leading provider of music learning and assessment services. Every year, over 600,000 musicians take our exams, in over 90 countries. We support the teaching and learning of music in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music. Our mission is to inspire achievement in music.

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Development Executive for South-West England to join the Sales team within our Commercial department. This role represents an opportunity to help us work towards our goal of providing learners from all sectors of society with access to our world-class music education and assessment services.

The RDE will be based in the region and will forge links between ABRSM and local musical communities. They will build strong relationships with key decision makers, such as Heads of Music Hubs and Music Services, Heads of Music in independent schools, music retailers, local business leaders and local media contacts. They will be the first port of call for the provision of expert information about ABRSM products and services, for advice and for dissemination of ABRSM corporate messages. They will also provide essential market feedback to ABRSM colleagues to inform future developments.

The successful candidate will have solid sales/business development experience, preferably within the music sector, and must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of ABRSM’s offer. The ability to communicate effectively and evidence of having used influencing skills to create a tangible impact on uptake of products and services is essential.

The RDE will be expected to travel regularly and widely in the region, as well as making one visit a month to head office in London.

ABRSM is a friendly company that offers its employees a range of benefits, including an interest-free season ticket loan (after passing a probationary period) and a contributory pension scheme.
